Dustin Pike's It's a Party Challenge!!!

WOW!!! It has been such a LOOOOONNNGGGG time since I have been able to play and create, I almost forgot how to make a card!! J/K I truly miss playing, and I finally got to play!!

Being that this month is Dustin Pike's blogiversary he thought it was appropriate to have a challenge with Birthday Cards. So for this week all you have to do in order to enter is make a birthday card using one of Dustin's images. Enter using Inlinkz (the little frog icon) at the bottom of his blog. Remember to email Dustin for your Pike Points for entering the challenge, and keep your fingers and toes crossed that you get chosen as this weeks winner where you will receive even more Pike's Points. Head on over to Dustin's Blog to check out the rules and participate in the challenge!!!

I used Widdle Dragon 2 for my image. My birthday card is for a baby being born!! In my opinion, that is a birthday too!! Actually, I think it is the BIRTHDAY!! I loved this image so much, I wanted to use it!! So, I went with it!! LOL I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I actually colored it twice cut both out and popped them up with pop dots!!

Hope you like my creation and get a chance to hop on over to Dustin's Blog so you can enjoy in the fun as well!!

Make it a great day!!
Michelle :)

Digital Tuesday Challenge #91

Hey Hey Everyone!!

I hope all had a wonderful Christmas and received lots of goodies from Santa.
My creation is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge #91 (see sidebar for link to the challenge blog). This week our hostess, Maria, gave us an easy challenge due to all the craziness that is going on in our lives right now. The challenge is EVERYTHING GOES!! That's right we can do whatever our little hearts desire as long as it includes a digital stamp. Our sponsor this week is our very own Ellie with her Digital Stamp Oasis!!! My image is from her company!! I colored it with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless mineral spirits.

Wishing y'all a Happy New Year!!!

Digital Tueday Challenge #86

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the short post, but I am sick with a bad sinus infection, and I really just want to go back to bed!!
The card is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge #86- Let It Snow. We were to use a digital image and make a card representing 'Let It Snow'. My image is from Dustin Pike and is colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. My snow embossed paper is actually alumimun foil. For a little dazzle I added dazzling diamonds to the image. My sentiment is from the SU! Let It Snow stamp set.

Hope all is having a better day than I am!!
Off to bed I go!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #85

Good morning everyone,

I made my card for two reasons today. One is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge #85- Things with Wings (click the banner on my side bar to link to the blog). We were to make a creation using a digital image that has wings. I choose this adorable image by Dustin Pike to go on my card and I colored it with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits.

I also chose this image because it is perfect to give to my youngest daughter, Brianna, for her birthday. She is turning 8 on December 2nd. She is my little cupcake, and she is growing up so fast. For her birthday, we are surprising her with a Disney cruise to the Bahamas. We are not going to let her know about it until we pull up to the boat. We are even taking her to school that morning so she can do her spelling test and see her friends on her birthday. Then we are going to pick her up around 12:00 to take her to Port Canaveral, Fl where we will embark on our cruise. When she ask why picked her up early and where we are going, we are just going to tell her she has to wait and see. We are very excited about it!!

Anywho, tell me what you think about my card and hop on over to our blog, see all the wonderful creations our other designers came up with for inspiration, and join us in our challenge!! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with!!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge # 81

I am the hostess for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge!!
This is what I create for my challenge.
Below the image is what my challenge is
and a description of my card.

I don't know about everyone else, but
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.
I love seeing all the colors that come along with this time of year.

So, my challenge is for you to create a Halloween card,
but not using the traditional colors of orange and black.
So, I would like to see what you can come up with using
non-traditional colors. I would like your paper colors to be

Yellow, Black, and Purple

Of course, you also need to use a digi stamp
somewhere on your wonderful creation.
If needed, you can use other colors when coloring your image
but your papers need to be
Yellow, Black, and Purple

Our sponsor this week is

Blackleaf Studios

The winner of this week's challenge will receive this fun Halloween set.

My card is made with this set. I made a stair step card. The papers I used are Stampin' Up Basic Black, Barely Banana, and Lavender Lace. I daubered the Barely Banana layers and moon with Barely Banana, and More Mustard ink. For the background scene I daubered the Lavender Lace Paper with Lavender Lace, Perfect Plum and Basic Black to create a spooky night. I used a Martha Stewart fence punch for my fence. For my sentiment, I embossed in black the Happy Halloween from the Stampin' Up Autumn Apparitions set. For my images, I colored them with prizma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits, cut them out (which prove to be quite tricky, but I got it done!!!), and popped them up with demensionals.

I hope you like what I created!! Tell me what you think?

Step on over to the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog (link is on my side bar)

and give my challenge a try!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #76 and #77

The card is for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge #77 - One for the Girls. My image is from Dustin Pike and it is colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I used glitter Stickles on the outfit, shoes, and wings. The cut out rose flower is popped up with demensionals. I used a white ziggy pen to outline the embossed flowers. Add some Rhinestones, a computer generated saying, and viola, a card I believe to be one for the girls!!

And this card is for last week's Digital Challenge Tuesday's #76 -Sports Themed. I made mine with a soccer playing dragon image by Dustin Pike. It is colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I made this card for my nanny who just has a baby Aug 4 and played her first soccer game since being cleared to play again from the doctor and scored a goal and assisted another goal. Their team won!! Yeah Paola!!!

DTC Challenge #74 and #75

Why, hello hello my dear stamping friends!! It has been such a long time since I have posted something; I almost forgot how to post!!
Life has been on the way insane side this summer. Many thing happened making it imposible for me to find time to play and create much less post.
I had a couple more rounds of kidney stones resulting in another surgery.
My gall bladder decided to go on the crazy side for a while, but it cleared up.
While in the hospital, I found out I have sleep apnea. I am now on a C-PaP machine at night.
Working on getting my hormones straight.
Trying new meds for my bi-polar.
My nanny had a baby girl on August 4th.
I took my college Spanish I course online.
Took a Disney trip with the middle sister and her daughter. It was their first time.
And took a trip to Texas for my yougest sister's 30th b-day.
Like I said INSANITY!!

I did make some things, just not cards.
I made many crocheted items including two blankets for my nanny's baby.
I made a cross-stich name and date picture plus matching needle-point blanket for her too.
I will try to post pictures of those later.
With the kids back to school, and me in a comfortable routine with my classes this semester, I actually have time to create again!! I am finally back to doing what I love to do and that is creating cards and projects for the challenges!!

Like I stated earlier, I almost forgot how to post things. I completely forgot to post the Digital Tuesday's Challenge for last week. It is now below.
This card is for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge #75-Dots and Stripes. My images are from KLM Digital Designs. I colored them both with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorles Mineral Spirits, cut them out, and popped them up with demensionals.

This gift set was created for the DTC Challenge #74 Make a Gift Set. The image is from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studio. I colored it with Prisma Color Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits, cut it out and popped both of them up with demensionals.

It is nice to finally be back and have time to create. I missed it dearly.

I look forward to doing challenges again and I hope to hear from everyone again!!

Have a great day!!

Michelle

Digital Tuseday Challenge #41

Hello everyone,
.
I am now on the road to recovery. I had my surgery yesterday for my kidney stones, and everything went well. Today is my first day of going back to school. I am working on getting my PhD in Psychology. Wish me luck!!
.
This is for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge #41. Shelly is our wonderful hostess this week. She wanted to keep it simple because of all the craziness we just went through from all of the holidays. She challenged us to use embossing on our creations. I used the Cuttlebug Hearts Embossing folder on mine.
.
I missed last weeks challenge because of all the health issues I was going through. So, this also fits last week challenge #40 to make a Valentine's Day card.
.
My image is from Dustin Pike that is being released today. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I cut the bear out and proped him up with demensionals. I hand doodled around the bear, added 3 heart brads, and the sentiment is a stamp from High Hopes stamped in StazOn Black. I made this to go along with his 1st Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge. He has challenged us to make a lovey, dovey Valentine Card too.
.
What do y'all think?
.
Now I am off to school. My first 2 classes are Psychology and English.
.
Digital image can be found at Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studio sometime today.

1st Doodle Dragon Studio Blog Hop!!!!!

Welcome to the first Doodle Dragon Studio Blog Hop!

If you've arrived from Lelia's blog, you're headed in the right direction. If not, start at the beginning on Dustin's blog

We're very excited to announce a new challenge blog for Doodle Dragon Studio images, and the first challenge is TODAY! To kick it all off, let's have a blog hop featuring some new digi stamps. Make sure you leave comments on the design team blogs along the way, because three lucky commenters will be randomly drawn to win all five of the new digis Dustin is sharing today! Then, check out the first challenge for another chance to win new Doodle Dragon digis.

.

I chose to use the new Shining Armor image for the challenge today. I colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I wanted him to peek over the edges so I cut him out and pasted him to his framing. My DP is textured felt hearts, and I used the Heart shape Nestibilities for my computer generated sentiment.

What do y'all think?

I almost missed New Year's!!

I hope everyone had an awesome New Year's Last night. I had a great time, but almost missed it!!
Unfortunately I was in the hospital until 6:00 last night. Sadly, I was admitted into the hospital Wednesday thinking I was having major problems with my colon only to find out my colon was fine, but that I had an huge 9 x 12 mm kidney stone blocking my left kidney and several littler ones as well. I am in a lot of pain and heavily doped up on morphine, but I got to come home for our New Year's Eve party and didn't miss the fireworks we shot off!! It was so awesome!! Aliyah, my 13 yo daughter, made some of the best food!! I am so proud of her!! Now I have to wait until the 11th for the machine needed to go in and break up the stone. Hatefully, the 11th is my first day back to school also. Totally Sucks, but I have faith things will work themselves out!! or at least I pray they do!! Oh and on the 4th, I am having 2 wisdom teeth surgically removed. Talk about my life totally sucking right now!! LOL What a way to bring in the new year!! But hey it can only go up from here!!!! LMAO

Here are some pics from last night's party.....

Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Digital Tuesday Challenge #39

Welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge!!

Michelle R. is my name and being hostess this week is my game!!

First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderfully happy holiday last week, and is looking forward to a HAPPY NEW YEAR this week!!

Second, I would like to thank everyone who played along last week in the Let It Snow Challenge, we had so much fun visiting your blogs and seeing your projects. A random winner for the 3 Dustin Pike images will be chosen later on today!

*******************************************************

Now, on to your challenge for today!!

We are now in the midst of winter. My daughter, Aliyah, is dying to see snow. She keeps hoping someday it will snow, but alas, we live in Florida where it never really snows. So it is for her I have created this challenge.

I want to see winter scene images using lots of Dazzling Diamonds for snow.

Our sponsor this week is Soft Pencil. Elizabeth has many cute winter scenes as you can see by many of the creations our wonderful DT has created on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog. The winner of this week challenge will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to spend on Soft Pencil images.

*****************************************************
My image is from Soft Pencil. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencil and OMS. I did both the outside and inside of this card. I used Dazzling Diamonds for the snow on the image and for all four snowflakes. And to add a little extra snow in case the Dazzling Diamonds weren't enough, I used my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder on Shimmery White Cardstock for my BG too!! The title of the image is 'Looking For a Friend'. I chose to use it as my computer generated sentiment. To finish off the sentiment, I put 'and I found you' on my inside.
Wht do y'all think?

What I Have Been Up To

Hey there,
.
I just wanted to show you what I have been up to lately. I kinda took a break from making cards seeing my stamp room is so chaotic with everything every where you can't find anything. It also was the wrapping station for Christmas.
.
I made a few ornaments to give as gifts to my BFF's this year.
.
You can find the tutorial in a very old blog post (November 2006) made by Amanda Sewell - Inkspirations here.

I made a Plaid Bucilla Felt Stocking for one of my God sons for Christmas next year. I am making one for each of my god kids and this was the first one I completed. I'll show you each one as I finish them. I already have stocking made for my family. I made them several years ago. My extended family saw them and they wanted one too. So I am making 6 of them over the course of the year for next Christmas!!

.

Here is a pic of my family's stockings made made a long time ago...

What do y'all think?

I am now going to clean up my stamp room. It will probably take me the whole day!! LOL

Once I am done, I will get back to making cards finally!! I am hosting the challenge for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge, so I'd better get cracking!!

Hope everyone had a beautifully blessed holiday!!

Warm wishes to all,

Michelle

Angel's Landing DT Challenge

Hello there everyone,
.
This is for my Angel's Landing DT Challenge. Judi has challenge us to make anything to do with a gift. For my Gift Giving project, I chose to make a window treat box. I used an image from the Polar Bear Cubs set, coloring it slightly with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I used Shimmering White, Felt Snowflake DP, and Metallic Silver for my papers, and Nestabilities to cut out her window. My embellishments include white wired ribbon and die-cut snowflakes covered in Dazzling Diamonds centered with a rhinestone. My sentiment is computer generated. The candy inside the box is vanilla flavored Tootsie Rolls.

This is for Digital Tuesday Challenge #35 Christmas Sparkle. Lora is our lovely hostess this week and she has challenged us to use glitter and bling on our creation this week. My glitter and bling is the snow flake and metallic silver paper.

Simple, Easy 5 in 1

Hello everyone,
.
I decided to go with a simple, easy, and quick card today. I finally got rid of my migraines (they were due to allergies) and ended up with a massive head cold. 'Tis the season right? LOL It was a little difficult to take a pic. seeing the metallic silver kept wanting to shine the flash, but I managed to get a decent one. Sorry for the bright flash in the corner.
.
I found the challenges to give me inspiration in making my card today via The Daily Dare.
.
My first challenge is for today's Daring Cardmakers 'I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas Challenge where we were to make a Christmas cards that is mainly white with just a hint of coloring on your embellishments or stamped image. My hint of coloring, of course, is silver. I have never really made a mainly white, simple and easy card before. This was pretty cool!! LOL
.
Next, this is for today's No Time To Stamp's Stamp Simply #115-Mass Production Challenge where we were to create a card that is SUPER easy to mass produce — like once designed you could realistically sit down and do 6 or 8 or more within an hours time. This card only took me 15 minutes to make and will be easy to produce many quickly.
.
This is for today's Paper Cutz Challenge #19 where anything goes, and for today's Paper Makeup Stamps Challenge where we were to create anything holiday/Christmas.
.
And finally, my layout is yesterday's Our Creative Corner Challenge which is the Stamp and Smiles Sketch Challenge #42
.
My card is quite simply made. I finally used my Winter House Cuttlebug folder I have had for over a year, but never managed to use. I sprinkled to snow with Dazzling Diamonds, and embossed the saying from SU!'s Solemn Stillness set in Silver EP. My ornaments are just circle punches with Cuttlebug Snowflake Diecuts covered in Dazzling Diamonds centered with a rhinestone, and holiday silver wired ribbon. That's it!! Simple huh?
